I Love This Time of Year!

I really love fall and I'm so glad my birthday's in October. It has to be the most fun month of the year. It's festive in a lot of different ways, not just because of Halloween, but because it's the beginning of the Holiday Season. You can just feel it. It's so much more fun now that I've got kids. Corey and I took the kids to Heritage Farm in Wellsville on Monday and Aubrey just loved it. She rode ponies and the train. Doesn't get much better than that. Not mention they had yummy kettle corn. I think that was Sienna's favorite part.

Yesterday was my birthday and the kids and I met my Mom and my sister, Sam, and Brook, my sister-in-law, at Gardner Village. It was a little rainy, but not too cold. We had so much fun! Aubrey was wearing her Halloween costume so she fit right in with all the witches. She really loved all the Halloween decor. I got some great pics.

This was probably Aubrey's most favorite part of Gardner Village.
There's a cat chasing that mouse under the witches skirt... kinda creepy.
Aubrey was fascinated.

I'd just like to say 'thank's girls (and boys) for making my birthday a real happy one!'

Brook and Max, so cute!

Notice Sienna is eating something.
Hey, whatever makes 'em happy.

Aubrey must have been having a good time.
That is the only explanation for me getting such cute poses out of her.

Corey took me to Settebello's in Salt Lake last night, too. All in all it was an fabulous day!

Aubrey and Sienna - Enjoying the nice weather inside

We don't need to go outside to enjoy the nice, sunny weather. We have all we need right here, except the beach of course.

Whether were outside or inside, Sienna will find some bark to munch on.

Willis Tower

We did quite a few fun things this summer. Rather than write about them all at once, I figured I'd mention them randomly each week one by one.

Corey and I left the kids for a few days and flew out to Chicago with my family. We visited the tallest building in the U.S. and I think the world - The Willis Tower - formally known as the Sears Tower. Anyway, it was awesome and terrifying. They had these little glass boxes on the very top floor of the building that you could sit in and it was like you were floating on air. It was so unnatural. I stood in the box a few times until I noticed that one of the three boxes was closed off because it was leaking...YIKES! It really didn't seem safe, but it was fun. Corey loved it!

Chicago really is a beautiful city.
Corey had way too much fun up there.

It takes 346 of me to be as tall as the Willis Tower.

Married 8 Years

Today is mine and Corey's anniversary. It's hard to believe it's been 8 years already since we got married. Wow! Time really flies and I have to say that I'm happy as ever. You know how on your spouse's birthday you write as many good things about them as they are old? Well, I feel bad that I didn't do that on Corey's birthday so I thought I would do it on our anniversary - 8 years, 8 excellent qualities that Corey possess that I admire and adore...
(In no particular order)
1. He's so darn good-looking!
2. He's so dang smart!
3. He's funny.
4. He's really good at about anything and everything he does - skiing, biking, playing drums, wake boarding, cleaning, organizing, etc.
5. He's a great daddy! The girls absolutely adore him.
6. He's so honest.
7. He's someone you can count on. He keeps his promises.
8. He's a person you can really be yourself around, an all around good friend to have.

I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea - I love Corey! He's great! Marriage is great! We've had a great 8 years together and we have many more wonderful years to look forward to together.

Progress!

We are so proud of our little Aubrey. We have been potty training for what feels like forever and she has finally gone two days accident free. For some weird reason Aubrey wants to go to Lagoon again, so we promised her we would go to Lagoon if she would learn to go potty on the toilet. I even made her a chart so she could see her progress. I didn't really think it would work but now she is a potty pro. Miracles do happen. Way to go, Aubrey!

Start of Summer 2009

We went to Lagoon with my family last Monday. It was great! My uncle, Ron, and all his family went, too, which brought back fond memories of my childhood. The weather was perfect!
Sienna did not go to Lagoon. I thought she'd be happier playing with her grandma Peggy. Corey had to work (but secretly despises Lagoon), so it was just me and Aubrey. Aubrey was very happy to see her cousins and she wanted to be where ever they were. Sadly, the first ride I took her on just happened to be probably the scariest ride in the whole kiddy park. It was the kid's equivalent to the Rocket. She was so willing to ride it so I thought she'd be fine and she was until we went super high. Then she hid her eyes with one hand and said "scary, scary," but she never cried. However, this was the end of rides for her. She wouldn't even ride the little whales, spaceships, not even the little boats. She absolutely hated the carrousel. She loved the train and I actually took her with me on Rattlesnake Rapids. I think she only rode it because her cousins were riding it with us. All she said after that was, "I'm wet!" Overall, I think she had fun. Lagoon is so much different when you have kids. It's a different kind of fun. It's like being there for the first time again. I really had a very fun time with Aubrey and with my family. It's something I look forward to every year!
Aubrey would not look at the camera for anything!

She didn't want to ride any rides, but she loved shopping. I let her get this frog and it was in pieces by the end of the day. Darn that cheep Lagoon merchandise!

I didn't notice before, but you can totally see the terror on her face.

I think the best part of Lagoon for Aubrey was when she played in a puddle with her cousin, Iven. I didn't even care that she was getting dirty and wet. Hey, she's finally having fun.

Start of Summer
- Part Two -

Me and my girls went to the zoo a few weeks ago with Corey's sister, Brandi, and her boy, Daxton, and my sister Samantha and her little boy, Canon. It was another perfect day. It wasn't too hot or cold. Most of the animals were out where you could see them. Aubrey loved it! It was funny because Aubrey called the giraffe Melman and the zebra Marty from the movie Madagascar and it just so happened that the zoo theme this year is Madagascar. Aubrey actually enjoyed riding the carrousel at the zoo, unlike at Lagoon where she practically ripped my head off trying to get off the ride.

Hey, Melman!

Aubrey loved the map of the zoo more than anything else. It's cute because she looked at it a lot after we went to the zoo and it brought back memories for her. She would really like to go again. Who can blame her? The zoo's the best!

April 2009

I figure if I update my blog every month, I'll be doing pretty good for me. My toddler likes to help me, which makes it difficult if not impossible. I have to set aside an entire day just to update the blog.

Sienna is getting big. Her favorite things to do these days are ride on the stuffed horse, ride the little pooh car outside, or just sit and play with toys. And when she isn't doing one of those things, she has to be held.  Aubrey loves to entertain Sienna mostly by spitting at her or sneezing on her, which I really don't like but Sienna thinks it's hilarious. If Sienna starts crying, Aubrey tries her hardest to make her happy again. She's a very loving big sister.

Easter -

We celebrated Easter in St. George with my family. We had a fun little easter egg hunt. Aubrey's favorite part was finding a snail in the driveway. I think snails are pretty darn yucky. They were all over my parent's yard in St. George. Aubrey loved it. Her cousin, Iven, also caught a frog and let Aubrey hold it. She talked about that for weeks.

Sienna was lots of fun. It was her first Easter and I think she enjoyed being with her cousins. Grandpa Cox held her nearly the entire time, so she got a little spoiled. She seriously hasn't been the same since. She has to be held all the time.

Look, a snail!

Happy Spring!

Aubrey and Sienna Pictures

I'm so excited! We actually got a few pictures of Aubrey and Sienna together. After the last time we had pictures taken at KiddieKandids I wasn't sure that it was possible. Too bad we couldn't get Sienna to smile with Aubrey, but I took what I could get. Anyway, overall I have to say the pictures turned out pretty dang cute!

Spring Fever

OK, so it's about time for it to start warming up and I think it's about time I update my blog. Sorry...

Sienna is getting so big. I took Sienna to the doctor last week and he said to get her on solids right away because her weight is low. I thought she was looking pretty good to me, but I'm not a doctor. So that same day we gave her some cream-of-wheat because that's all we had. Corey had a super fun time feeding it to her. She liked eating it, but she had a pretty hard time getting it down. It all pretty much came out her mouth before she could swallow it.

I had to throw a few pictures of Aubrey in. She actually looked at the camera and smiled long enough to get a few decent pictures. She's been sick lately, so I'm really looking forward to end of the cold/flu season.

I also had to throw in a few pictures of our yard. We took these a few weeks ago, before it snowed again. This is just a sample of what we ( and by we I mean Corey ) has to look forward to this spring. Lots and lots and lots of branches. Piles of 'em. I should have taken a before and after shot because Corey did an amazing job raking them up. I'm not pregnant this year so I don't have a real good excuse not to help in the yard this year. SUPER! I can't wait!
